Welcome#

Propose, get married, and show off your suspiciously impressive domestic life with unique items and features. And sandwiches.

Admin Settings#

Marriage settings can be adjusted to fit your world! Access through the Marriages & Sandwiches Guide book.

• Allow Marrying Custom Entities: Valid entities included in this Add-On are Hay Honeys and Sandwich Golems. They must be named before they can be married.
• End Marriage on Player Death: When disabled, a player dying will not end their marriage
• Enable Marriage Effects: Disabling this will prevent all ring effects from working.
• Enable Sandwich Effects: Disabling this will prevent all sandwich effects from triggering.
• Mobs Can Sit on Chairs: Disabling this will prevent mobs from sitting on wedding chairs or benches.
• Spouse Effect Range: The base radius (in blocks) within which being near your spouse grants Regeneration. Ring bonuses may multiply this value. (2 to 32 blocks)
• Display Time Zone: Adjust the Coordinated Universal Time Zone.

Choosing a Partner#

Who Can You Marry?#

You can marry players or custom entities. Proposing to another player requires their consent. They must accept your proposal for you both to be wed. If they say no, that means no. And that's OK!

Want a wedding without the drama?#

This Add-On includes custom companions you can build, befriend, and marry: Hay Honeys! They have unique behaviors, can be dressed up using wedding decorations, and make for a very low-maintenance spouse. If you want to take your love life up a notch, you can also build Sandwich Golems. They're a bit more high-energy but just as loyal.

How to Build a Hay Honey#

Place a lit or carved Pumpkin on top of a hay block and BOOM! A Hay Honey appears. No crafting table required.

Hay Honeys wander around peacefully and target monsters in the area. They will retaliate if attacked, so maybe avoid punching your new friend. You can feed them food items to restore their health (most foods work, including sandwiches!). If you want them to be a closer companion, you can tame them with their namesake: bottles of honey. Then you can have them sit as well as follow you.

You can dress a Hay Honey by using a Wedding Decoration item on it. This changes its appearance to match the decoration's style (Chic, Cute, Garden, Goth, or Ice). Use Shears to remove the outfit and recover the decoration.

Sandwich Golem#

Spawn a Sandwich Golem by interacting with an Armor Stand using any filled Sandwich Tray.

Wait, what?

Ever wanted to build a giant walking sandwich? Now you can! Interact with an Armor Stand while holding a filled Sandwich Tray. You can even marry them. Why? ...Why not!

Making Rings#

Jeweller Board#

The Jeweller Board is the workhorse of ring crafting. You WILL need one for every recipe. Craft it at a Crafting Table with a Gold Ingot, an Iron Ingot, and a Stick across the top row, with three Planks on the bottom row. You can also buy one from a Wedding Jeweller if manual labour isn't your thing.

Step 1: Craft Jeweller Metals#

Use a Jeweller Board with any of these materials and start forging commitment hardware:

• Bone -> Jewellers Bone
• Copper Ingot -> Jewellers Copper
• Gold Ingot -> Jewellers Gold
• Iron Ingot -> Jewellers Iron
• Netherite Ingot -> Jewellers Netherite

Some metals can even be combined for unique ring bases.

Step 2: Craft a New Ring#

Place four of the same Jeweller Metal and a Jeweller Board in a ring shape to make the matching ring. Very symbolic. Very shiny.

Step 3: Add a Gem (Optional)#

Want extra bling? Add a gem in the top-left corner while crafting. It changes the look and grants special effects when your spouse is nearby.

Step 4: Propose!#

Use the New Ring on someone to send a proposal. If they say yes, boom: you're married.

Find a variety of new structure all across the world! There can be randomized loot found in each of these structures.

You can find various new NPCs to trade with, shops to buy things from, and even special items.

Marriage Information#

Wedding Certificate#

Both partners receive a Wedding Certificate when they marry. It proves you made it official, so try not to lose it in your rows of chest storage.

Marriage Registry#

Use the Marriage Registry item to open the server registry. From this ledger, you can browse:

• All Current Active Marriages
• World Marriage History
• Your Personal Marriage History

Marriage Registries can be purchased from Wedding Planners or by naming a book "Registry" in an anvil.

How Weddings End#

Death: If your spouse dies, you become the surviving spouse and are separated. You receive a Remembrance Certificate as a keepsake, which is nicer than flowers and lasts longer.

Death (If Disabled): Player death does not end a marriage, isn't that great?

Separation: Use a Separation Application to open the separation menu, choose their name, and confirm. In both cases, Wedding Rings become Broken Wedding Rings and lose all effects.

Broken Wedding Ring#

A souvenir from a previous chapter. It can also be smelted down to recover materials for you to do it all over again!

Wedding Decorations#

Where to Get Decorations#

Wedding Planners spawn naturally around the world. Hunt them down and trade for decorations worthy of an absurdly photogenic ceremony. You can find wedding structures in the Plains, Desert, snowy biomes, Taiga, and rumour has it even in the Nether.

Five Styles#

Every decoration comes in five themes, because one wedding aesthetic was never going to be enough:

• Chic: polished enough to make villagers stare
• Cute: awww look at the pretty hearts
• Garden: flowers, foliage, like the others but more brown
• Goth: dramatic, moody, purpley
• Ice: cool in every possible sense

Outfits & Accessories#

Wedding Outfit, Ceremony Outfit, Formal Outfit, Classic Outfit - dress like you totally planned ahead.

Bouquet: You can throw it if you want, but you'll need to have people who can catch it.

Dressing Up Your Hay Honey#

You can interact with Hay Honey while holding Hay Honey Outfit to dress them up in the finest wedding fits!

If they don't look dangerous enough, you can also give them some weapons by interacting with your Hay Honey while holding a weapon.

Outfit Wedding Planners sell Chic, Cute, Garden, Goth, and Ice styles. They can also wear regular player equipment including the wedding outfits!

Use Shears to return equipment and change their outfit to default.

Sandwiches#

Important!#

Sandwiches are just great, and an essential part of the Marriages & Sandwiches experience. You can eat them for a quick snack, or place them on a Sandwich Tray for a fancy buffet presentation.

Cutting Board#

The Cutting Board is the VIP of sandwich crafting. EVERY sandwich recipe needs one. Craft it with an Iron Ingot, a Stick, and three Planks, or buy one from a Wedding Chef for the easy way out.

Making Sandwiches#

At the Cutting Board, combine Bread with a filling ingredient to make a full sandwich (yields 2). Eat it immediately or place it on a Sandwich Tray like a culinary icon.

Sandwich Tray: Combine 2 full sandwiches with an empty tray on the Cutting Board. Interact with the tray to grab a slice, then eat it up. Yummy yummy.

Lettuce - A New Crop#

Lettuce is a new crop added by Marriages & Sandwiches! Grow it like wheat, harvest a Lettuce head, and make a Salad Sandwich if you want some extra roughage.

Rare Effects#

Some sandwiches have a rare chance to apply a bonus effect when eaten. Not all of them are nice, Cactus and Pufferfish sandwiches are particularly nasty.
